Director of Licensing,  San Francisco, California (Hired in 30 days)

Responsibilities:

Lead relationships with film studios, television broadcasters, talent agencies, personalities, writers and sports managers to identify entertainment properties available for video game licensing.

Analyze licensed properties for market potential and game play possibilities to make recommendations to company executives on best licenses to pursue

Responsible for identifying successful licenses and presenting findings and recommendations to management for application in both Marketing and Production

Evaluate the market potential and risks of licensed properties by looking up historical sales data, conducting genre analysis, making comparisons with other similar products

Prepare and deliver presentations and recommendations on potential licensing opportunities, strategic partnerships, licensing of outside talent to management

• Utilize research and analysis to identify entertainment licensing opportunities
• Initiate research, analyze and interpret data and identify historical trends
• Work in cooperation with other internal research groups to obtain data
• Research and give recommendations on Domestic and International Licensing/ Publishing opportunities which lead to acquisitions of IP for video game development.
• Create well-researched, detailed presentations of the license opportunity analysis and recommendations to present to company decision makers in weekly meetings
• Provide support for the Marketing and Licensing/Publishing Groups through research and analysis of the company’s target market, product mix and competition.
• Assist in the tracking of all key licenses and maintain regular contact with US Licensors on development, production and marketing issues.
• Other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:
• 5 – 7 years experience in analytics in the entertainment, videogame, interactive or related industries
• Direct experience researching data, analyzing the data, then articulating this into recommendations is required
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Strong communication, writing and presentation
• Knowledge of video games and video game culture in order to make appropriate recommendations
• Familiarity with current entertainment pop-culture trends is required
• Professional approach to conducting daily business
• Good at establishing relationships with cross-functional peers and 3rd party partners
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and details
• Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, with a strong emphasis on PowerPoint
• French language a plus
