The Game Systems Designer is responsible for designing, documenting, and tuning mathematically oriented game systems. All applicants must have a strong mathematical, engineering, analytic or economics skills and work experience in a software development environment.

Responsibilities
• Design and document core game systems including (but not limited to): combat, classes, skills, weapons, items, creatures, and world economy using mathematically sound principles.
• Refine game mechanics, play progression, and the “fun factor” working collaboratively with the entire team.
• Design within given technical and/or artistic constraints.
• Respond constructively and promptly to information requests, feedback, analysis, and critiques of game systems or content coming from the team.
• Consistently uphold established quality benchmarks.
• Create metrics gathering, analysis and presentation systems with engineering staff.
• Partner with QA team to establish test process for game systems and game data.

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience designing and tuning game mechanics and game systems related to combat and/or game economies.
• Excellent math and analytical skills.
• Passion for game design and the ability to articulate design concepts analytically.
• Background tuning and balancing formulae for characters, classes, weapons, items, enemies, and skills, spells or abilities.
• Capable or making key design decisions and balance tradeoffs, without sacrificing the established vision and quality standards.
• Experience with entire game development cycle, from concept to release.
• Ability to work under tight schedules and reliably hit milestones.
• Enthusiastic and passionate about playing and making truly great games.
• Experience with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Photoshop, MindManager, or Visio
• College degree, preferably math, economics, or CS related.
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Helpful Skills:
Prior work on an MMOG.
Development experience with at least one programming language: Lua, Python, C++.
Credited with a Senior Design role, or multiple credits as a Game Designer.
Solid verbal presentation and/or communication skills.
Experience mentoring other designers.
